The NYIOP Auditions are open to any professional opera singer, managed or unmanaged. Singers will be chosen to audition based on a variety of criteria, based on professional viability and usefulness to professional opera houses at a variety of levels. Final decisions are solely at the discretion of the NYIOP.

All singers will be heard in a Preview Audition and those who pass to the Final Audition will be decided solely at the discretion of the panel hearing them. This panel will include casting directors, agents and NYIOP staff. For an explanation of the Preview Audition procedure, click HERE
