What is a Webinar?
Webinars are simply the way information is being passed in today’s business world. With the difficulties and cost of air travel as well as the time drain it takes to go place to place for meetings, businesses are holding more and more Webinar meetings all over the world. It is a very convenient way to get a personal “live” touch with true interaction between the participants at a fraction of the costs.
How does it work?
It is a very simple process. Once you have registered online to attend the Webinar you will receive an email with a link to the Webinar page. At the scheduled date and time you simply click this link and it will take you directly into the “room”. You will receive reminder notifications one day before and one hour before just so you don’t forget to join.
During the Webinar you can send questions or chat with the presenters and hosts, you can “raise your hand” to be addressed, during a period of free comments it is even possible for the host to let you address everyone attending the Webinar. It is like having an international town hall meeting from the privacy of your home and your computer.
Is my privacy respected?
The only people who will know you have joined are the Hosts and Presenters of the Webinar – you are NOT visible to everyone taking part and your privacy is secured. You can choose to share your webcam image or not, as you wish. It is even possible to take part in the discussion via telephone on a call in number if you are not near a computer.
Do I have to install software on my computer?
You do NOT have to install any extra software, you do NOT have to show your images and you do NOT have to be heard by everyone in the “room”. Once the Webinar is over, you close the page and none of your personal information is saved.
Can I attend on my iPad or Android tablet?
YES! It is also possible to take part via iPad or Android tablet – but you will need to install the free app before trying to sign on. You simply click the received link and everything opens in the app.
