PRIVATE SESSIONS / CONSULTATIONS

David Blackburn is available for a limited number of Private Sessions when he is in New York City and also sometimes in other international cities. Each session is custom tailored for the singer requesting the time and can cover any topics the singer wishes, from professional development to repertoire choices to audition preparation etc. The fee for these private sessions is $200/hour (or local equivalent) and includes the room rental. This fee does not include the pianist’s fee should the singer require one.

MASTERCLASSES / SEMINARS

Professional Seminars

NYIOP can arrange to hold a targeted professional development seminar for any group of singers with a minimum of 8 involved. Topics can range from audition preparation to understanding the European opera system to setup up an audition tour, or anything desired and discussed beforehand. Masterclasses

David Blackburn is available for masterclasses for either universities/ conservatories or groups of individuals. David has done masterclasses at the Juilliard School, Manhattan School of Music, Yale University,
University of Texas at Austin, Texas Tech university, University of Houston, UCLA, and Northwestern University. He has also held professional development masterclasses with the Adler Fellows of San Francisco Opera, the International Opera Studio of the Opernhaus Zurich, the Atelier Lyrique of the Paris Opera, IVAI Tel Aviv, and also for private groups throughout the United States and also in Berlin, Santiago de Chile and London. AUDITION TOUR SERVICES

As the industry leader in bridging the distances in the opera world, NYIOP has a unique body of knowledge and perspective on planning audition tours. We are available to help singers in the many aspects of a proposed
audition tour. This help includes, but is not limited to, planning the route of a tour, knowing whom to contact in proposed opera houses, help with the logistics of living internationally for limited periods of time and how
to manage local travel and other aspects (telecommunications, internet, housing etc). We can also build into a requested Audition Tour Service some coaching time to help better focus your repertoire for the different tastes of the theaters or locations where you wish to audition.
